The Friends of the Library is a non profit organization dedicated to assisting the Imboden branch of the Lawrence County Library in it’s numerous projects and programs. These very special friends provide money for special projects throughout the year from membership dues,the friends of the library book sale,and proceeds from fundraisers
What do Friends Do?
Volunteer for activities in the library
Provide refreshments
Collect used books to sell
Help raise funds
Write grant proposals
Advertise the library activities
What have the Friends of the Library done?
Applied for and recieved 3 grants for the purchase of new books.
Purchased and fund the library aquarium.
Purchase books,video,books on tape,and magazine subscriptions
Sponser Summer Reading Program party each year
Develop display area at the library
Sponsored a book signing
Booth at the Lawrence County Fair
Friends Events-
Christmas Party for area children.Visit with Santa,refreshments,crafts, and a free book for every child! Last year over 100 children came to the Christmas Party!
Pancake Breakfast Co-Sponser annual Art Contest with free book give aways to the art contest winners.
