Love your Library!

February is National Library Lover’s Month, a month-long celebration of school, public, and private libraries of all types. This is a time for everyone, especially library support groups, to recognize the value of libraries and to work to assure that the Nation’s libraries will continue to serve. To celebrate February 2012 will be Amnesty Month at the Bobbie Jean Memorial Library in Imboden. That’s right, if you have any overdue books or materials out on your library card, NOW is the time to return them to the library.
NO QUESTIONS ASKED AND NO OVERDUE FINES TO PAY for the month of February only.
(lost books are not covered under amenesty month)
If you are not sure if you have any books out on your library card, just give us a call at 869-2093 and we will be happy to check that information for you. We also have a book drop for patrons to drop off their books anytime.
Also you can stop by to check out our BIG book sale going on now. Hardbound books $1.00 (most like new!), paperbacks 10-25 cents per book, and VHS cassettes for 25 cents.

It’s Christmas at the Library

The annual Bobbie Jean Memorial Library Christmas Party sponsored by the Imboden Friends of the Library will be held on Thursday December 8th from 3:30 until 4:30 pm. Parents bring your child to enjoy holiday refreshments, visit with Santa, and each child will receive a free book. Children ages 2-12 years old are welcome to attend. The Friends of the Library use this opportunity to promote reading in our community. The Friends of the Library raise funds at the annual Pancake Breakfast in March to help purchase the books to give away during the party. These funds are also used to purchase new items for the library. So stop by the Imboden library on December 8th, Santa will be there!

End of Summer Reading Program Party 2011

July 25th 2011 marked the end of the Summer Reading Program at the Bobbie Jean Memorial Library. The end of summer party consisted of a lego luau complete with flowered leis for each child, tropical smoothies, cupcakes, chips, and a game of hot potato. Each child received a reading certificate and a goody bag for participating in the program.

The BIG reader award went to Gueneviere Nelson for reading 165 books over the course of the program. She received the top prize of a large container of legos. Second place went to Ashlynn Tubbs who won a pinata filled with candy/prizes and a book. Third place went to Fallon Mathews who won a beach ball sprinkler. Congratulations girls for reading the most books during the program!
Winners of the prize drawings were Triston Voyler, Macy Lamb, and Ethan Pickett.
Over 60 children were enrolled in the summer program this year. I would like to extend a thank all volunteers and those who made donations towards making the Summer Reading Program such a success. The Imboden Friends of the Library, Rebecca Jones, Savanah Williams, and all the parents/grandparents who helped out during the party!
